What You'll Do

As a Corporate Strategist in Acumen’s Corporate Strategy Practice, you and your consulting team will guide client leadership teams to develop a mid-to-long term business roadmap that meets their growth ambitions. Key responsibilities of a Corporate Strategist include:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work collaboratively with the consulting team (consultant, client director, subject matter experts) to deliver value to the client.
  2. Establish a trust-based relationship with the client to best articulate and deliver value-adding work to their organization.
  3. Quickly develop a robust understanding of the client’s business including where they are today and where they want to go.
  4. Customize and map strategic planning processes and workshop designs based on Acumen IP and client needs that surface the most critical opportunities, strategies, and initiatives across the client’s business.
  5. With the Client Director, drive and orchestrate alignment across the consulting team and client organization through integrating strategic outputs, client coaching, and industry expertise.
  6. Coach Consulting Associates as well as Clients

Who You'll Work With

You will work with client leadership across a wide range of industries and sizes, helping them articulate their business strategies. In each client project, you will work with a consulting team consisting of a client director, consultant, consulting associate, and subject matter experts (as needed). You will also work with the Program Director for Corporate Strategy to leverage and improve existing Acumen IP for client needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven Strategic Thinking: 5+ years professional work experience in leading and executing successful strategic planning cycles, business reviews, or corporate planning initiatives, demonstrably transforming businesses. The ability to identify issues and ruthlessly prioritize strategies is paramount.
  • Communication and Integration: Excel in clear and concise written, verbal, visual communication, confidently engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Able to translate and integrate complex information into clear, actionable insights and next steps in the client’s language.
  • Robust Analytical and Process Architecture Skillset: Able to structure ambiguous problems, quickly grasp the complexities of diverse business landscapes, and map out a robust, integrated process for strategy development according to the client’s context.
  • Bias for Action: Strong track record of executional excellence. Able to move teams into action and ensure alignment to strategies and goals.
  • Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally.
  • Agility and Flexibility: A high threshold for ambiguity and ability to adapt to changing project requirements and client needs.
  • Multinational company experience considered a valuable asset.
