What You'll Do

A Commercial Strategist in Acumen’s Commercial Strategy Practice play a crucial role in enabling clients to transform their business in a significant way. This role will assist in producing recommendations to grow the business, focused on commercial strategies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include the role of a Strategist and a Project Manager:

  • Strategist Role
    • Data Synthesis and Analysis - Leads the synthesis and analysis of data from various sources such as client business data, market data, competitor review, stakeholder interviews, qualitative and quantitative research and industry trends—integrating the findings to answer the key business questions set for the project.
    • Strategy and Content Development - Develop strategic recommendations that highlight the issues and opportunities that should be prioritized and addressed by the client using Acumen’s intellectual properties (process, framework, criteria). These recommendations must be relevant, value-adding and actionable.
  • Project Manager Role
    • Reports and Presentation Development - Leads the preparation of the reports and presentations of the findings and recommendations based on the aligned strategy and content with the Client Director and/or Senior Strategist.
    • Project Management and Coordination - Leads the day-to-day project management and effectively manages timelines and delivery of success outcomes. This also includes coordination with the client’s main point of contact regarding meetings, workshop timings and arrangements as well as with research and creative agencies

      Who You'll Work With

      The Commercial Strategist will collaboratively work with a Client Director and other consultants for every project engagement. He/ she will report directly under the Commercial Strategy Program Director and work with different internal and external stakeholders.

      Qualifications

      • University degree in Marketing, Business or related course is required, master's degree in business related course is a plus
      • Senior Brand Manager, Senior Brand Developer or Senior Strategy Planner level in a multinational or large local companies
      • Experienced in Business Analysis, Financial Analysis, Target Market Analysis, Market Segmentation, Market Research Planning – Qualitative and/or Quantitative, Generating Consumer Insights, New Product Innovation, Competitive Understanding, Brand/Product Value Proposition Development, Strategy work - Portfolio or Pricing Strategy, Market Launch
      • Demonstrated strengths in:
        1. Analytical Thinking – ability to break-down complex issues and parts into smaller more manageable parts and using logic to solve problems
        2. Data-Based Decision Making - analyzing large volume of qualitative and quantitative data, identifying patterns and drawing logical conclusions
        3. Problem-Solving Skills - solutions-oriented and agile in addressing challenges
        4. Business Acumen - understands business dynamics and industry trends
        5. Project Management - organized in keeping track of tasks, deadlines, and resources to ensure timely delivery and success outcomes
        6. Communication and Presentation Skills - speaking with clarity and confidence, building trust and engagements
